1. $91m Tax Fraud: US Justice Department Moves to Strip Nigerian of Citizenship
The United States Department of Justice has filed a civil complaint to revoke the American citizenship of Nigerian-born Emmanuel Oluwatosin Kazeem.
NaijaChoice News reports that the case, lodged on Wednesday at the US District Court in Baltimore, Maryland, accuses Kazeem of obtaining his citizenship through fraud and hiding his crimes.
According to a DOJ press release issued Thursday, Kazeem masterminded an identity theft ring that hit more than 259,000 victims and attempted to snatch over $91 million from the US Internal Revenue Service.
2. ADC State Chairmen Sue NWC Over Primaries
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is facing fresh legal turmoil as chairmen from all 36 states and the FCT have dragged the National Working Committee to the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The plaintiffs accuse Senator David Mark-led NWC of violating the party’s constitution by setting up parallel committees to organise state primaries scheduled for April 2026.
3. Borno Governor Zulum Warns of Eid Suicide Bombers
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has urged residents of Maiduguri to stay extra vigilant during today’s Eid al-Fitr prayers following fresh intelligence on two suspected suicide bombers planning attacks in the city.
In an interview monitored on BBC Hausa Service in Damaturu, the governor said security agencies have credible information that the bombers are lurking around. “We have intelligence that there are two suicide bombers lurking around to carry out attacks, and we are calling on all our people to remain vigilant,” Zulum stated.
4. Obidient Movement rocked by exit of finance director as new platform emerges
The Obidient Movement is staring at fresh internal cracks after its Director of Finance, Dr Peter Agada, quit the group and launched a separate political outfit.

Plumbers summoned to fix a stubborn blockage at the Naraguta female hostel of the University of Jos stumbled upon a newborn baby lodged inside the pipes on Wednesday.
Students had complained for days that toilets in the hostel were unusable. Water refused to flush properly and foul smells filled the corridors, leaving many residents helpless.
Authorities quickly brought in a team of plumbers after the situation worsened. The workers broke open sections of the sewage line during what sources described as routine renovation work and made the horrifying find.
