The South-West chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday re-elected Isaacs Kekemeke as its National Vice Chairman for the zone.
Kekemeke and other zonal executive members emerged at the party’s South-West Zonal Congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos.
A total of 3,188 delegates from the six South-West states participated in the congress, where the executives were returned through a consensus arrangement ratified by voice vote.

Governor Uba Sani has said that President Bola Tinubu’s leadership has been marked by courage, clarity of vision, and an unyielding commitment to repositioning Nigeria for sustainable progress.

3. Atiku’s Criticism Of OPL 245 Deal Driven By Self-Serving Interests – Fagbemi
Lateef Fagbemi, attorney-general of the federation (AGF) and minister of justice, says criticisms by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over the federal government’s resolution of the OPL 245 dispute are driven by “self-serving interests” rather than patriotism or objective reasoning.
On March 5, the presidency announced the successful conclusion of a settlement agreement between the federal government, Eni, and Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited (NAEL).
The AGF had described the development as a milestone in repositioning Nigeria’s economic landscape.
4. UK State Visit: Governor Peter Mbah Engages Investors
Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State seized the moment to market his state as a prime investment destination during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
The Enugu governor addressed a select gathering of international investors at the UK-Nigeria Project Agglomeration Compact Dinner held at the House of Lords in London. Mutandis Africa convened the high-profile session on the sidelines of the presidential visit.

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government of destroying opposition to make President Bola Tinubu continuing staying in power.
Abdullahi made this allegation on Wednesday when he featured in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
He was speaking on the forthcoming 2027 general elections and the crisis in different opposition political parties.
During military rule, Abacha created five political parties and encouraged them to make him the sole presidential candidate.
6. Akpabio Backs Creation Of Anioma State, Says Capital Will Be In Asaba
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has thrown his full support behind the proposed creation of Anioma State.
NaijaChoice News reports that the Senate President made the declaration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South Zonal Congress in Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday.
He said he has no problem with the initiative, describing it as a positive step that should not generate fear in the region.
The proposal, long championed by Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North, seeks to carve out a new state from the nine local government areas in Delta North. It aims to address the imbalance in the South-East geopolitical zone, which currently has only five states compared to six in other zones.
7. Panic As Bandits Invade Kwara Deputy Governor’s Hometown, Kill Two
Terrorists have invaded Oro-Ago community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, the hometown of Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, killing two people and wounding the local security chief known as Olu-Òde.
The attack happened on Wednesday evening when heavily armed gunmen stormed the community, shooting sporadically and trying to overrun a nearby police post before moving from house to house and breaking doors.
Residents who spoke to NaijaChoice News described the assault as a full-scale invasion that left the community in total panic.
8. Baruwa’s Lawyer Accuses Tinubu Of Shielding MC Oluomo From Court Orders In NURTW Crisis
Barrister Tolu Babaleye, counsel to Comrade Ibikunle Tajudeen Baruwa, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of backing his long-time ally, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, in defying court rulings that removed him as National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Babaleye said the President’s alleged support has emboldened MC Oluomo to boast openly that only Tinubu can remove him from office. He described the situation as a clear case of impunity that undermines the judiciary.
9. Three Weeks After Joining APC, Dr. Umbugadu Dumps Party, Rejoins PDP
Dr David Emmanuel Ombugadu, a former Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress barely three weeks after joining the ruling party.
NaijaChoice News gathered that the politician, popularly known as Davematics, confirmed the move in a letter dated March 24, 2026, addressed to the APC chairman of Ika/Wangibi Ward in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area. He cited alleged political manoeuvres within the party aimed at undermining his 2027 governorship ambition as the main reason for his exit.
10. Oyo: I Didn’t Kill Anybody, It’s Just A Cruise, Forgive Me – Shawama
A man known as Shawama, who sparked outrage after claiming he killed 32 people in Ibadan, has now begged the Oyo State government for forgiveness. In a fresh video that surfaced hours after police announced a probe, he insisted the confession was fake and meant only to “catch cruise.”
Shawama told viewers he has never hurt a soul in his life. “I have never hurt anybody in my life, not to talk of killing 32 people. It’s all cruise and play. Oyo State government, please forgive me,” he pleaded.
