Popular Nigerian influencer and relationship coach Blessing Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO, is under fire after her public announcement of stage 4 breast cancer.
Days ago, the Ebonyi-born social media personality took to her platforms, shaved her head, and shared emotional videos appealing for financial and medical support from Nigerians. She described the diagnosis as a sudden health battle that began with a lump last year.
NaijaChoice News reports that fresh evidence now circulating online has thrown her claims into serious doubt. The family of Miss Deborah Mbara has accused Blessing CEO of editing and using their relative’s genuine medical results to back her own story.
In a letter issued by the family’s solicitors, the Mbaras are demanding immediate public clarification from Blessing CEO on how she obtained and altered the documents. “We have been instructed and given permission by Miss Mbara’s family to put out these legal documents including Miss Mbara’s medical results and also how Miss Blessing Okoro manipulated their sister into sending her the results,” the letter states.
The family insists Miss Mbara, who has since recovered from her own breast cancer treatment, was coaxed into sharing the original report while she was Blessing’s client. Side-by-side comparisons of the documents now trending show what they claim are clear edits, including name changes and other details altered to match Blessing’s profile.
The development has triggered widespread reactions across Nigerian social media. Many users who initially sympathised with the influencer are now calling for refunds of any donations made and demanding full accountability.
Blessing CEO is yet to respond to the specific allegations as at press time.
This case highlights the growing concern over unverified health appeals online, where public trust and empathy are often exploited in Nigeria’s digital space.
