Tinubu’s Ambition To Become Paul Biya Of Nigeria Will Fail – Dino Melaye

Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of plotting to entrench prolonged leadership and erode democratic opposition in Nigeria.

In a video posted on his Facebook page over the weekend, Melaye warned that any such attempt would fail. He likened the President’s supposed ambitions to the long rule of Cameroon’s Paul Biya and what he called the “Musa Kankan” style of governance.

“Tinubu’s ambition to be the Paul Biya and Musa Kankan of Nigeria will not work,” Melaye declared in the clip now circulating widely on social media.

The outspoken former lawmaker urged Nigerians to push back against moves toward a one-party system. He said the “Kabiyesi mentality” — a reference to absolute, king-like rule — has no place in a democracy.

“We will resist one party state. Kabiyesi mentality will not work. Arise Nigerians,” he added.

Melaye painted a grim picture of the current national situation. He described the times as “perilous” and unprecedented in the country’s history.

“We are in perilous times in the country. We have never seen this kind of situation like this in this country. Unfortunately, we have a president who doesn’t care,” he stated.
