Tinubu Arrives Convention Ground in Style as 31 Governors Line Up

The thirty-one governors of the All Progressive Congress late Friday lined up to receive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the official commencement of the 8th National Convention of the party.

In what appeared an unprecedented development at the Eagle Square venue of the convention, a ruling party in Nigeria was having 31 governors out of 36 in the country.

NPO Reports that apart from the governors who were originally elected on the platform of the party, more than 10 of them have defected from other political parties on the platforms of which they were elected.

AMong those who defected from their were parties were those of Plateau, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Kano, Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Peter Mba of Enugu Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers State) and others.

Tinubu’s arrival at the venue of the convention was greeted with shouts of “On Your Mandate We shall stand” as the venue erupted with the chorus.

The President thereafter went round to shake hands with the party leaders and governors who were lined up to recieve him.
