The Abia State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the death of Mr Ikenna Onuoha, a junior staff member at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.

His body was discovered last week along a bush path in the Amaeke-Isiadu area of Umuahia North Local Government Area. The deceased was described by colleagues as a jovial and dedicated worker who carried out his duties without complaints.

The shocking find triggered panic among his wife, relatives, friends and fellow staff at the Federal Medical Centre, one of the major tertiary health facilities serving Abia State and parts of the South East.

NaijaChoice News reports that preliminary police findings point to suspected suicide. The Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the development, adding that detectives from the Command promptly visited the scene and took photographs.
