The Fuji icon made the remarks during a live performance at the 52nd birthday celebration of Nollywood veteran Fatai Odua, better known as Lalude, held on March 30.

“I do it for my own success. I don’t do it to kill or do any bad thing,” he stated, according to the widely circulated video. The 56-year-old musician, who grew up in Ibadan, added that he pays daily homage to Ifa, describing it as a normal part of his routine that supports his progress.

Osupa further questioned what else could guarantee success in life, rhetorically asking if ordinary tablets like Panadol would bring wealth or comfort. He suggested that life is too short to remain in poverty and implied many Nigerians, including public figures, engage in similar traditions privately while projecting strict religious images publicly.
