OMU-IJEBU, Ogun State – Detectives attached to the Omu-Ijebu Divisional Headquarters of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with the suspected theft and illegal repainting of a Suzuki mini bus.
The arrest of Azeez Khadijat followed credible intelligence that she and three male accomplices were spotted in a bush along Ikhasi Road, Kajola via Omu, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at about 4pm.
The suspects were busy changing the vehicle’s original yellow colour to white and blue in an apparent bid to disguise its identity. The bus, popularly called Korope and bearing a Lagos State registration plate, had no number plate at the time of the operation.

On sighting the operatives, the three men fled in different directions, leaving Khadijat behind inside the abandoned vehicle. Police recovered the mini bus and secured it at the station.
Items recovered at the scene included three handsets, one power bank, a can of paint, sandpaper and a Type-C charging cord, all suspected to belong to the fleeing suspects.
Preliminary findings indicate the Korope was allegedly used for criminal activities in Lagos State before the gang attempted to repaint it to evade detection.
The command has intensified efforts to arrest the three male accomplices, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for detailed investigation and prosecution.
CP Bode Ojajuni, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, commended the detectives for their swift and professional response and gave assurance that the remaining suspects would be brought to justice.
