A Kano-based legal practitioner, Barrister Abdulsalami Ginsau, has died after spending hours trapped inside a hotel elevator in Abuja.

Reports reaching NaijaChoice News indicate the incident happened on Tuesday. The lawyer was stuck in the lift for a prolonged period and suffocated before help could reach him.

No details have emerged about the specific hotel involved. Neither the hotel management nor the police have issued any official statement so far.

Senator Shehu Sani confirmed the tragedy on social media. He described the case as pathetic and wondered whether power failure to the lift, a technical fault, or plain fate caused the death.
