Businessman Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has shared a raw and emotional video from Australia where his wife is receiving treatment for cancer.
In the clip making rounds on social media, Fayose could not hold back tears as he described arriving in the country to a different reality from his usual visits. His wife, who normally picks him up at the airport, was too weak to do so this time.
“I had a strong experience today. I’m in Australia to visit my family, but this visit is different. My wife is critically ill, she’s so unwell she couldn’t even come to pick me up at the airport as usual.”🥹🥹

“I had a strong experience today. I’m in Australia to visit my family, but this visit is different. My wife is critically ill, she’s so unwell she couldn’t even come to pick me up at the airport as usual,” he said, his voice cracking with emotion.
NaijaChoice News gathered that Fayose took an Uber home after landing and went straight to his wife’s bedside. He sat with her and sang her favourite hymn to offer comfort as she lay too weak to speak.
The businessman reflected on the fragility of life, noting that despite his resources, nothing could change his wife’s condition at that moment. He held her hand while singing, and according to accounts from the video, she managed to kiss his hand even in her frail state.
The video has drawn widespread reactions across Nigeria, with many offering prayers for the Fayose family. Supporters of the former governor have also sent messages of solidarity, describing the development as a painful reminder of how illness spares no one.
Fayose’s public emotional outburst has once again highlighted the human side of prominent Nigerian families often seen only through political lenses. As at the time of this report, no further medical update has been released by the family. Nigerians continue to send well wishes to the couple.
