Blessing CEO has fired back at critics over the ₦13 million raised from her breast cancer appeal, insisting no one was forced to donate.

The controversial relationship expert, whose real name is Blessing Okoro Nkiruka, addressed the growing backlash in a recent interview. She maintained that donors gave out of their own free will and love, adding that she did not hold a gun to anyone’s head.

“I didn’t force you! I will not apologise to Nigerians for receiving money from them,” she stated firmly. Blessing CEO clarified that the total donations stood at ₦13 million, debunking viral claims of ₦100 million.

NaijaChoice News gathered that the storm began when the self-styled mental health and relationship coach announced she was battling stage 4 breast cancer. She shared what appeared to be medical results, shaved her head, and appealed for financial support from fans and followers.

Many Nigerians responded with sympathy and cash contributions. However, doubts quickly surfaced over the authenticity of her claims, especially after questions arose about the medical documents she posted.

Critics, including social media activist VeryDarkMan and others like Nkechi Blessing and King Mitchy, demanded she release full medical evidence or refund the money. Some donors have threatened legal action, with one reportedly seeking the return of ₦20 million.

In her latest response, Blessing CEO described the stage 4 announcement as a possible “miscommunication” with her doctors. She explained that she relied on what she was told about breast lumps initially flagged as cancerous and admitted she is still awaiting final staging after a biopsy.

She refused to publish her medical records online, describing them as private. The influencer also urged women across Nigeria to check regularly for lumps and prioritise early detection of breast cancer.

The development has divided public opinion sharply. While some netizens support her right to accept voluntary donations, others accuse her of exploiting public sympathy, especially amid past controversies surrounding the Ebonyi State-born content creator.

Calls for the EFCC to investigate the matter have grown louder on social media platforms. Blessing CEO, known for her bold takes on relationships, has built a large following through her online counsel and entertainment content.

As the conversation continues, Nigerians remain split on whether she owes an apology or explanation. Many are watching closely to see if more details emerge from her medical journey or if refunds will be issued.
