Businessman and industrialist of repute, Chief Akai Egwuonwu, has been selected as the Anambra Investor of the Year, 2025, by Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Awards.

Chief Egwuonwu’s recognition by the prestigious AMTY awards was communicated in a letter that was handed to Egwuonwu in his office, at the Zara Stores in Awka, Anambra State capital, by the organizers of the award. The 2025 AMTY award is chaired by Rev Sr. Professor Eugenia Igwedibia.

Presenting the letter of nomination, the AMTY organizers praised Chief Egwuonwu for his steadfastness, love, and commitment to the economic growth of Anambra State, demonstrated by having his businesses in the State. Accordingly, the letter noted that Chief Egwuonwu is recognized for his ventures, which show the enormity of his contribution to Anambra’s growth and development.

“Your selection is in recognition of your trailblazing ventures, particularly your rice mill, supermarket chains, oil, and gas, that have significantly contributed to Anambra’s economic expansion. Your vision and business acumen have inspired a new generation of entrepreneurs in Anambra and beyond,” a part of the letter of nomination reads.
