LAGOS, Nigeria — Big Brother Naija star Angel Smith’s same-sex marriage has collapsed barely three weeks after the ceremony in the United States.
NaijaChoice News reports that her partner Tumininu, widely referred to as the “lesbian husband” in their union, has accused Angel of cheating and moved to end the relationship. Tumininu claims the reality star slept with a woman she met on the dating app Hinge and has since moved into the other woman’s house.
The couple held a private white wedding in March 2026. Sources close to the matter say the union was rushed partly to help Angel sort her legal stay in America.
Tumininu first signalled trouble on social media by posting a picture of Angel’s engagement ring with the caption “if you need ring, holla.” She followed it with snaps of herself cuddling another woman.
In a heated post, Tumininu alleged she spent over $100,000 on Angel since she arrived in the US, including about $50,000 on her birthday alone. She warned critics not to provoke her further.
Later updates show Tumininu has filed papers seeking annulment of the marriage. She is demanding the return of $40,000 and $8,000 for emotional damage, plus an agreement that Angel will not drag her into any immigration or financial claims.
Leaked private chats circulating online reveal deeper cracks. Tumininu complained Angel showed little interest in intimacy, a problem that reportedly predated the wedding. Angel reportedly asked in one exchange if she had ever demanded a car from her partner.
As of Monday, Angel is yet to issue any public statement on the allegations or the separation. She has, however, been spotted without her wedding ring in recent posts.
The swift breakdown has dominated conversations across Nigerian social media platforms. Many fans of the former housemate are divided, with some expressing disappointment while others question the stability of same-sex unions involving celebrities.
