AMVCA 2026: Full list of nominees unveiled

The organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards have revealed the nominees for the 12th edition, ahead of the main ceremony set for May 9. 

Veteran actress Joke Silva has been appointed as Head Judge, taking over from Femi Odugbemi.

This year’s awards feature 32 categories, including 18 judged by a professional panel, 11 voted for by fans, and three special honours recognising Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer contributions.

The organisers also introduced two new categories, Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language Film (Central Africa) as part of efforts to strengthen the awards’ pan-African representation.
