Ogun , Nigeria — Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners’ Chapel, has recounted dramatic cases of divine intervention in kidnapping attempts involving members of his ministry.
The cleric, one of Nigeria’s most influential Pentecostal leaders, shared the experiences during a church service to strengthen the faith of believers.
In one incident, a pastor attached to the church was abducted by kidnappers. Oyedepo said he directed that his personal phone number be passed to the captors.
He issued a firm warning that the victim must be released within 24 hours or the abductors would face death. The bishop added that the location began vibrating intensely until the pastor was set free.
Oyedepo then told his congregation that anyone seized by kidnappers should immediately provide his contact.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number. If he is not cut down then I am not God sent,” he declared.
In a separate account, one of the bishop’s daughters was taken captive. She informed her abductors that her father had already fixed her release for no later than 7am.
Without any direct word from Oyedepo, the kidnappers turned on themselves and ordered the young woman to leave, he recounted.
The testimonies served to encourage Christians against living in fear or submitting to oppression. Oyedepo stressed that believers are raised far above the devil.
NaijaChoice News monitored the bishop’s address, which continues to resonate within the church’s vast following.
The accounts underline the power of spiritual authority as a shield for many Nigerians confronting insecurity.
