ILARO, Ogun State, Nigeria – The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists in Ilaro for assault, armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms. NaijaChoice News reports that the suspects – Samson John, 25; Olufowora Michael, 28; Odeh Samuel Ejeh, 25; and Olajide Jeremiah, 28 – were picked up by operatives of the Ilaro Division.
The arrests followed a complaint received at the station on April 16, 2026. According to the complainant, Samson John and six accomplices invaded his home around 1pm, assaulted him, threatened him with an axe and robbed him of his iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Swift police action led to the apprehension of the four suspects during which a locally made pistol, an axe, suspected charms and the stolen phone were recovered. The suspects remain in custody at the police station while manhunt for the other gang members continues.
The matter has since been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for detailed investigation and possible prosecution. CP Bode Ojajuni, the Ogun State Police Commissioner, praised the Ilaro Division operatives for their quick response and dedication to duty.
He stressed the command’s firm stance against cultism and all forms of violent crime in the state. Residents have been urged to stay alert and promptly report any suspicious movements to the police through the command’s emergency hotlines.
