In a major boost for Nigerian football, the Super Eagles have surged 12 spots to claim the 26th position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, released today by FIFA.

This impressive leap from their previous 38th place comes on the heels of a stellar performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hosted in Morocco, where the team secured a well-deserved third-place finish (bronze medal).

Under coach Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles demonstrated remarkable form throughout the tournament, winning six out of seven matches. Their only setback was a narrow semi-final defeat to hosts Morocco on penalties. The team bounced back strongly, defeating Egypt 4-2 in the third-place playoff to cap off a campaign filled with attacking flair, resilience, and mental toughness.
