President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is fully focused on delivering a stable, peaceful and prosperous country, with citizens’ welfare as the number one priority.
NaijaChoice News reports that the President made the commitment on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors. He said old political and economic structures that held back prosperity are being replaced through deliberate realignment that gives every Nigerian a chance to participate fully.
Led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the group came to update Tinubu on its nationwide grassroots work. Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda and governors from Yobe, Gombe, Kebbi, Ebonyi, Delta, Kogi, Ekiti, Benue, Taraba, Edo and Kaduna joined the meeting, alongside former governors and senior party leaders.
Tinubu pledged to keep pushing reforms that create real opportunities for the poor and vulnerable. He told the ambassadors to step up sensitisation at markets, schools and community levels so ordinary Nigerians understand what the government is doing to lift livelihoods.
“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” he said. The President added that greater citizen participation will build a better society for generations to come.
He stressed that his government will always uphold democracy, the rule of law and separation of powers. “We cannot submit to disobedience of a lawful order of the court,” Tinubu declared, urging all sides to respect the judiciary.
Turning to opposition criticism, the President dismissed attempts to spread fear and misinformation. He assured Nigerians that the country is in safe hands under visionary leadership and that the administration will not be distracted from its vision of inclusive growth and youth opportunities.
Governor Uzodimma told Tinubu the Renewed Hope Ambassadors have inaugurated structures across local governments and wards. The group is already collecting data at polling-unit level and taking government messages directly to women’s groups, faith organisations and professional bodies.
North-West zonal coordinator and former Katsina Governor Aminu Bello Masari commended the President’s courage in carrying out tough but necessary reforms. He singled out the fuel subsidy removal and forex changes, saying past leaders avoided them but Nigeria is already better for it.
Tinubu promised the ambassadors he would remain their strongest champion. “We act as one family,” he said. “I won’t give up.”
