The development follows his closed-door meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Abuja on Saturday. Sources close to the movement described the encounter as part of ongoing consultations to strengthen opposition forces ahead of the 2027 general elections.
3. Nigerian Gay Rights Activist & His Husband Announce Divorce After 3 Years (Photos)
US-based Nigerian gay rights activist Edafe Okporo and his husband Nick Giglio have announced the end of their three-year marriage.
The Warri-born immigration rights advocate shared the news on his Instagram page on Friday, March 27. Okporo, who fled Nigeria in 2016 after facing attacks over his sexuality, is the executive director of Refuge America, a nonprofit that resettles LGBTQ+ asylum seekers in the United States.
4. Sanwo-Olu Distributes 20,000 Food Packs for Tinubu’s 74 Birthday
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday distributed 20,000 food packs to residents across the state to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 74th birthday.
The gesture reached communities in all 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas. Beneficiaries collected the packs at key points including the Chapel of Christ the Light and the Lagos State Central Mosque.
5. Tinubu Donates All Salaries Since 2023 To Families Of Wounded & Dead Soldiers
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to open a special account for a new welfare fund supporting Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
The President announced the initiative on Sunday while marking his 74th birthday, describing it as a personal tribute to soldiers, sailors and airmen who risk everything for the nation’s peace.
In a statement issued from the State House, Tinubu said all salaries he has earned since assuming office will go into the fund as seed money. He stressed that this contribution stands separate from existing insurance and welfare packages already available to service personnel.

7. Nigeria Directs MTN, Airtel, Other Telecom Operators to Compensate Subscribers for Poor Network Service
The Nigerian Communications Commission has directed mobile network operators to compensate subscribers who suffer poor network quality across the country.
The regulator said the measure will come in the form of airtime credits calculated according to each user’s average spending patterns and their location in specific Local Government Areas where service failures occur.
In a statement released on Sunday by its Head of Public Affairs, Nnenna Ukoha, the NCC declared that subscribers must no longer bear the full cost of service disruptions when operators fail to meet approved standards.
