Kwara poly set for academic restart after protest

The Kwara State Government has approved the reopening of Kwara State Polytechnic following weeks of closure triggered by a student protest.

The institution is set to resume academic and administrative activities on Monday, March 2, 2026, in line with the state government’s directive.

The approval was conveyed in an internal memo signed by the Polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer, Halima Garba, on behalf of the Registrar.

According to the memo dated February 26, 2026, and issued by the Office of the Acting Registrar, management formally notified the Polytechnic community that the government had granted approval for the school to reopen.

Titled “Reopening of the Polytechnic for Academic and Administrative Work,” the memo stated that all staff and students are expected to resume promptly and comply fully with the directive.

The management expressed appreciation to staff and students for their patience, cooperation, and understanding during the period of closure, adding that it looks forward to a smooth and productive completion of the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session.
