The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have confirmed the elimination of two top officials from the intelligence branch of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya emergency command in a targeted airstrike carried out in the heart of Tehran.
The victims were named as Abdallah Jalali-Nasab and Amir Shariat, both described as senior intelligence commanders who had only recently stepped in as acting replacements for their predecessor, Saleh Asadi. Asadi himself was killed during the opening phase of Israel’s Operation Roaring Lion on February 28, 2026.
According to the IDF, the strike was executed with precise guidance from Israeli Military Intelligence, hitting a facility belonging to the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters – Iran’s unified military emergency command responsible for gathering and analysing intelligence that directly shapes the regime’s decision-making against Israel.

The two officials were said to have maintained close ties to the highest levels of the Iranian leadership and played key roles in formulating strategy toward Israel and the United States.
This latest hit forms part of a relentless Israeli campaign that has seen hundreds of Israeli Air Force aircraft pound hundreds of regime-linked targets across Iran since the start of Operation Roaring Lion. IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin noted that the operation opened with a surprise attack after intelligence identified senior Iranian security figures gathering in Tehran.
The strike on the replacement intelligence chiefs came barely 24 hours after Israeli forces completed 20 waves of attacks on more than 150 regime targets, signalling continued pressure on Iran’s command network.
Operation Roaring Lion, launched jointly with the United States, has already involved thousands of sorties, the destruction of major missile production sites, air defence systems and ballistic missile launchers, with the IDF reporting over 2,000 regime-related targets struck so far.
NaijaChoice News understands that Israeli officials view these targeted killings as a major blow to Iran’s ability to coordinate military actions, further weakening the regime’s intelligence and operational capabilities at a critical moment in the ongoing conflict.
The development has once again thrown the spotlight on the escalating Israel-Iran confrontation, with Tehran yet to issue an official response as global attention turns to the next phase of what has become one of the most intense aerial campaigns in recent Middle East history.
