Dele Momodu Slams Reno Omokri and Femi Fani-Kayode

African Democratic Congress chieftain Dele Momodu has hit hard at Reno Omokri and Femi Fani-Kayode, calling them “perpetual agents of perfidy” who lack any shred of credibility.

The Ovation Magazine publisher made the remark in a strongly worded statement titled ‘Reno Omokri & Femi Fani-Kayode: A Tale of Two Shameless Friends’. He posted it on his X handle on Wednesday.

NaijaChoice News reports that Momodu was responding to fresh attacks from the two men over his recent comments on President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He said he had planned to ignore them but changed his mind to stop anyone from bullying him into silence.

“They both have no credibility whatsoever,” Momodu declared. He reminded them of the damaging statements they once made against Tinubu, notes that cannot be erased no matter how hard they try.

Momodu dismissed claims that he had disparaged the President. “I have never disparaged Tinubu in my life. I have never called him a murderer. I’m intelligent enough not to say what I have no proof of,” he stated.

He made clear that his only accusation against Tinubu remains dictatorship. “All I have accused Tinubu of is dictatorship and I stand by it with my full chest,” Momodu said.

The ADC leader tied his position to Nigeria’s dark history of military rule. He recalled how Chief Moshood Abiola’s mandate was stolen and warned against replacing military dictators with civilian ones.

Momodu added that he had deliberately softened his criticism out of respect for past associations. He mentioned pleas from Yoruba elder statesmen, including retired generals, who asked him to give Tinubu time to settle in.

He also claimed Omokri and Fani-Kayode had privately reached out to him for support or reconciliation even as they attacked him in public. “How Femi and Reno can continue to harass people on behalf of a Tinubu they’ve permanently damaged baffles me,” he wrote.

The exchange comes days after Momodu, during a Channels Television interview, warned that Tinubu’s style risked sliding into dictatorship. The development has once again thrown the spotlight on the sharp divisions within Nigeria’s political space as the administration grapples with public discontent over economic policies and governance.
