OGBOMOSO, NIGERIA — A graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga, has emerged as the Best Graduating Student of the institution, attributing his academic success to the support of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Oladepo, who earned a Bachelor of Technology with a First Class grade of 4.89/5.0, shared the milestone during the university’s 18th Convocation ceremonies held in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.

The high achiever publicly acknowledged that the federal government’s student loan scheme played a pivotal role in ensuring he completed his studies without financial disruption.

“Your loans made it possible,” Oladepo stated in a social media post, specifically tagging the loan agency to express his gratitude for the intervention.

Education analysts told NaijaChoice News that Oladepo’s feat serves as a significant case study for the impact of the credit scheme on academic excellence in Nigeria.

The success of the 4.89 GPA graduate has sparked discussions regarding the importance of sustainable funding for students in specialized technical fields like those offered at LAUTECH.

According to reports from the convocation ground, the achievement has been hailed by the university community as a testament to both individual brilliance and the effectiveness of targeted educational support.

This development comes as more students across the country continue to apply for the federal loan to navigate the rising costs of higher education.

Oladepo’s recognition as the top student marks a milestone for the current administration’s education policy, demonstrating that financial aid can directly translate into record-breaking academic performance.
