Abuja, NIGERIA – Cryptocurrency mogul Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, has broken his silence following his release from the Kuje Correctional Centre, revealing an unexpected alliance with activist Omoyele Sowore.
Speaking to reporters and supporters shortly after regaining his freedom, the billionaire businessman expressed shock at how Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, intervened in his legal ordeal despite the two having no prior personal relationship.
“I have never met Omoyele Sowore in my life,” BLord stated while addressing the media. “I have never communicated with him or called him on the phone, but when he heard that I was being intimidated, he had to step in.”
The chairman of the BLord Group had been remanded in Kuje prison since April 1, 2026, following his arraignment before a Federal High Court in Abuja. He faced a multi-count charge bordering on alleged identity theft and the dissemination of false information, a case linked to a long-running dispute with social media influencer VeryDarkMan.
In a dramatic turn of events, BLord revealed that his bail hearing, which was originally scheduled for April 27, was fast-tracked due to Sowore’s persistent advocacy and intervention. The businessman described the activist as a pillar of support against what he termed “intimidation” by the authorities.
Visibly moved by the support, the tech entrepreneur announced a shift in his public stance, declaring himself a member of Sowore’s ideological camp. Clad in a symbolic beret presented to him by the activist, he confirmed his new alignment to NaijaChoice News.
“He gave me a gift, as you can see, he gave me a beret. I am part of the Revolution team now,” BLord declared, adding that he was heading back to Anambra State to reunite with his family and business associates.
The Federal High Court had earlier granted BLord bail in the sum of N20 million with two sureties in like sum. As part of his bail conditions, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia ordered the businessman to deposit his international passport with the court registrar and cautioned him against making inflammatory public statements regarding the ongoing case.
Observers say this new alliance between the wealthy crypto trader and the fiery activist marks a significant shift in the narrative surrounding the case.
While BLord maintains his innocence against the charges of forgery and impersonation, his “Revolution” declaration has already sparked intense debate across Nigerian social media platforms, with many watching to see how this partnership influences his future business and legal battles.
