Lagos APC governorship aspirant Dr Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has paid a high-level visit to key party stakeholders in the state.
The move forms part of his ongoing consultations with Governance Advisory Council (GAC) members and other influential leaders as the party prepares for its primaries. NaijaChoice News reports that the visits took place on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
Jandor met separately with Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and elder statesman Dr Abayomi Finnih, also a GAC member. He described the engagements as fruitful and strategic.
In a statement shared on his X handle, Jandor praised Speaker Obasa as a grassroots political mobiliser whose support remains critical ahead of the primaries. He said Obasa’s buy-in cannot be over-emphasised at this crucial period.
Jandor also hailed Dr Finnih for the “valuable elderly admonitions” he received. The aspirant noted that the elder statesman drew from decades of experience in politics and governance that money cannot buy.
The consultations come barely weeks after Jandor intensified similar engagements with GAC Chairman Prince Tajudeen Olusi and other council members. Political observers say the moves signal Jandor’s determination to build broad consensus within the Lagos APC structure.
Jandor, who returned to the All Progressives Congress after a brief stint in the PDP where he contested the 2023 governorship election, has been reaching out to party heavyweights since his formal re-entry into the fold. The GAC had earlier welcomed him back into the party fold.
Party insiders told NaijaChoice News that such stakeholder engagements are now standard practice among serious aspirants as the 2027 race gathers momentum. Loyalty, experience and grassroots strength are expected to shape the eventual primary outcome.
Jandor has repeatedly stressed his commitment to party unity and progressive governance in Lagos. His latest outings with Obasa and Finnih are seen as further steps in that direction.
The APC is yet to announce a formal timetable for the 2027 primaries, but aspirants are already positioning themselves through quiet but intense lobbying.
