B-lord Granted Bail “I Have Done My Part” Says Sowore
The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday granted bail to cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as BLORD, after he spent 16 days in Kuje Prison.
BLORD was remanded following allegations of impersonation and unauthorised use of social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan. The court released him on self-recognizance but ordered the immediate seizure of his international passport, restricting his travel while the matter remains before the court.
NaijaChoice News understands that the development follows a de-escalation of tensions, with both sides now leaning towards an amicable resolution. VeryDarkMan’s legal team, led by Barrister Marshall Abubakar, withdrew opposition to the bail and has been credited in many quarters for choosing settlement over prolonged legal battle.
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, who actively supported BLORD’s release, confirmed the outcome in a statement.
“I have done my part in this case. BLORD has been granted bail. I am off to the next,” Sowore said. He added that no battle comes without consequences and he remains ready to face whatever follows his actions.
Sowore stressed that BLORD’s bail marks the end of this phase and insisted he bears no personal grudge. He described the episode as part of his wider fight for freedom for Nigerians, even as he shifts focus to other pressing cases, including what he called continued political pressure ahead of the next election.
The activist positioned himself firmly as part of the “real opposition” and urged young Nigerians to unite. He called on them to set aside internal divisions and instead channel their energy into holding the government accountable.
The case has drawn widespread attention across Nigeria’s social media landscape, highlighting the growing friction between online influencers and the limits of celebrity influence. Many observers see it as a reminder of how quickly personal disputes can escalate into full-blown legal battles in the digital age.
