The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has ratified the outcomes of its ward, local government, state and zonal congresses held across the federation.
NaijaChoice News reports that the 107th NEC meeting, which took place in Abuja on Monday, 23rd March 2026, described the exercises as peaceful, transparent and credible. The committee commended party leaders, electoral officials, stakeholders and members for their discipline and commitment to due process.
NEC also reviewed the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise and expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far. The party reaffirmed its push for a credible, technology-driven database and urged all members nationwide to complete the e-registration without delay.
On the sensitive issue of zoning, the NEC stood firm on the existing formula for national elective positions. Officials said the arrangement, rooted in the party’s principles of equity, fairness and national balance, will guide proceedings at the forthcoming national convention.
Sale of nomination forms for the convention has already begun. Interested aspirants have been advised to obtain the forms and strictly follow the approved guidelines and timelines issued by the party.
The NEC further directed all organs and committees to work towards a seamless, credible convention scheduled for 29th and 30th March 2026. The event, tagged “A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal,” is expected to produce a new leadership that will steer the party towards the 2027 general elections.
In a firm message to members, the NEC stressed the supremacy of the party and called for unity, discipline and total commitment to the collective interest of the PDP.
The communiqué expressed confidence that the party has renewed its strength and organisational capacity. It assured Nigerians of the PDP’s readiness to offer purposeful leadership and direction at the national level.
The resolutions were signed by Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP National Caretaker Working Committee, and Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, Secretary of the same committee.
