NaijaChoice News reports that the presidential aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 1:15 a.m.
They were received by Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, the President’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and other top All Progressives Congress chieftains.
The President is expected to spend the Eid al-Fitr holidays in Lagos before returning to Abuja to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa.
The visit, which kicked off on Tuesday at the invitation of the British government, was the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years.
President Tinubu and the First Lady were hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at a grand state banquet inside Windsor Castle.
He also held bilateral talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street.
Both nations signed several Memoranda of Understanding, including a £746 million deal to redevelop the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos.
The agreements target improved port infrastructure and stronger trade ties, key moves that could ease cargo flow and boost Nigeria’s economy as the country pushes for deeper bilateral cooperation with the UK.
Officials described the trip as a major step in strengthening long-standing relations between Africa’s largest economy and Britain.
