Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday led members of the State Executive Council on a thorough inspection of the Multi-Agency Office Complex and the Lagos Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Building at the Central Business District in Alausa, Ikeja.

The governor declared the Multi-Agency Office Complex practically completed, with only minor finishing works on the ground floor, setbacks, landscaping and external clean-up remaining. He expressed full satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that the contractor would wrap up all pending tasks within the next two weeks to prepare the facility for use.

As previously reported by NaijaChoice News, this landmark project was designed to centralise critical state agencies, eliminate the high cost of renting scattered office spaces across Lagos and bring parastatals closer to the main Secretariat for seamless coordination.

The three-block edifice (Blocks A, B and C) sits on a 2.01-hectare site. Block B towers eight floors with a penthouse, while Blocks A and C rise five floors each. The first two floors across the blocks provide multi-level parking for over 600 to 700 vehicles. Upper floors boast modern office spaces, conference rooms, canteens, kitchens, central air-conditioning, elevators, staircases, reception lobbies, a generator house and advanced safety features.

Sanwo-Olu described the complex as a “masterpiece” that would drastically cut the cost of governance, improve synergy among agencies and deliver a conducive working environment for civil servants. He stressed that the ambience would translate into faster turnaround time for services rendered to Lagosians.

“The space in which services are being rendered is critical to us as a government. That is why we are creating better working environment for our staff,” the governor stated during the inspection.

The adjacent five-storey LAGIS Building, which will serve as a one-stop hub for land administration, geospatial mapping and urban planning, is also advancing rapidly. Sanwo-Olu urged contractors to accelerate work in the coming weeks so the facility can meet the same completion timeline.

Both projects are expected to receive a symbolic presidential commissioning during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s forthcoming visit to Lagos. The governor said the formal opening would be part of the high-profile event, highlighting the state’s commitment to efficient service delivery.

This development aligns with the Sanwo-Olu administration’s broader agenda of reducing overhead costs while positioning Lagos as a model of smart governance. Once fully operational, the Multi-Agency Complex will ease chronic congestion at the Secretariat and provide Lagos residents with quicker, more reliable access to government services.
